Look. I’m not perfect. By any stretch of the imagination. I’ve got flaws so deep they’re like the grand canyon of my soul. Yet I do the best I can okay? And so I understand that no politician is perfect. Yet I care about more than my own self interests. And I observe things and learn from them fairly well. Mostly I learn the hard way. Yet that makes my lessons that much more powerful.

So I think it’s time I take one more step in the direction of being a healthy participant in this great country of America.

And here’s why I am in support of Barbara Boxer for U.S. Senator in 2010 even though it’s only early March, 2009.

Voted for Reagan (what a mistake)

I voted for Reagan / Bush forever ago, only to have watched how Reaganomics set the stage for the collapse of our healthy society. That led me to having become dis-illusioned by all the lies and deception on both sides of the political isle. Then for the next couple decades, I sat on the sidelines apathetic and only caring about my own little slice of existence.

Clinton was a Mixed Bag

Of course, I had hope when Clinton was able to leave the country with a phenomenal budget surplus. Yet his shenanigans in office were beyond annoying and reflected my cynical views of politicians. The whole Bush theft of the election against Gore reaffirmed those exponentially.

Bush / Cheney nearly Destroyed America

But after eight years of Cheney the puppeteer and Bush, dumber than a bag of rocks, destroying this country and taking us backward, I became fed up.

Here’s an example of the insanity. In 1989 I worked in telephone customer service earning $12 an hour. Twenty years later, customer service reps are still being paid $12 an hour. Yet the cost of a home, EVEN AFTER THE MARKET COLLAPSE, house prices are still at least double (and in some places, triple or quadruple) the cost they were in 1989. Most products a human needs to live in this country cost a lot more than they did 20 years ago.
Yet the ability to afford even the basics of life, the simplest things that bring dignity and self esteem has been stripped away from most Americans. That is NOT a result of fiscal responsibility or fairness or respect of the very workers who helped make corporate America succeed in the past.

Bush’s imperialistic doctrine has cost the lives of thousands of patriotic Americans. Cheney’s pals like Haliburton helped rape the American treasury. Corporate greed fueled by their doctrine became too much for the country to handle. The environment suffered more than ever before….

Is America Safer From Terrorism because of Bush? NOT

The first attacks on the World Trade Center took place in 1993. The next attacks didn’t occur until 2001. That’s EIGHT years between attacks. Yet Bush claimed that it was HIS policies and HIS doctrine that kept us safe for the eight years that followed the 2001 attacks. I don’t believe that for one rats ass second. I believe that his tactics and strategies and methods only made our country MORE vulnerable to attack, and have fueled radical extreme ant-American sentiments on a GLOBAL scale. He alienated half the world for cryin out loud. Failed to address the Isreali/Palistinian issue. Failed to address the fomenting unrest that has led to a strengthened Pakistani instability. Insisted on imposing A twisted, inaccurate, false version of American Democracy on Iraq. Took the eye off the Bin Laden ball. Tortured detainees. Shredded the U.S. Constitution. And left a legacy that has now fueled radical extremist U.S. citizens. Right here in our own country.

Obama, Hope & Early Signs of Progress

So last year, I voted for the first time in ages. For Barack Obama. Put my foot down and said, right along with MOST americans, enough was enough. It was beyond time for a change in a new direction. For the first time in so long, I really felt that we could finally have a chance to get back on track toward healing and restoring both our greatness in the world and our greatness here at home. And I still believe that now – after a few months of seeing what President Obama has done with the help of Barbara Boxer and the majority of the Democrats in the Senate and House.

President Obama- a true American, with an amazing 21st century American Family, is doing the right things for the right reasons when it comes to a strong America, a healthy America, an America the majority of Americans are actually proud to be part of once again. His beliefs are well-founded in a Christian belief system, yet unlike radically dogmatic Bush, he doesn’t try to force his personal religious views on the rest of us, because he knows that this is a country that was not founded on radical extremist religous control over the people.

And he is working with the democratic majority in Congress (read that duly, legally, and legitimately elected democratic majority in Congress), to bring dignity back to the people of America. And respect from the rest of the world.

Stubborn Republican Leadership Fueling Extremist Fringe Fanatics

And I watch the radical Right Conservatives scream bloody murder with each step Obama takes to do his best at healing our severely hacked up and incomprehensibly decimated America. Because they are scared. They’re truly scared. And the entirety of the Republican Congress is trying all they can to undermine what the American People voted to see happen. They’re refusing to open their minds and admit they screwed the pooch six dozen times too many. And they’re refusing to acknowledge that America became sick and tired of being sick and tired of their way of thinking and acting and running this country.

Well too bad. Their way of life nearly completely destroyed America. And if they don’t have the courage or willingness to admit that, or look at their role in that, then well, that’s THEIR problem. And if they think that they will be able to gain supporters enough to be able to get the Democrats out of power in 2010 or 2012 by using their insane radically fringe tea-party tactics, or by using people like Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, Boehner, Jindal, Beck, or any other pure “conservative that really isn’t conservative” voices, then God bless their little dumber than a bag of rocks hearts.

Boxer Is The Right Choice For Senate in 2010

In the mean time, I am going to do what I can to help ensure the voice of conscious awakened reality continues to be heard and remains in power. And that’s why I fully support Barbara Boxer in her efforts to be re-elected for U.S. Senate in 2010. This is important because even though I live in California now, having moved here after living in New York, Alabama, Maryland and Oklahoma, I don’t believe for one minute that California will, without effort, always be a Democratic bastion.

Too often I’ve seen political shifts at the local and regional level to think that we can sit back and “expect” that Barbara Boxer will automatically become re-elected of her own accord. And after the pain and suffering we the American people suffered because of our own watch from the sidelines choices over the past several years, we need to stay awake now, and not let up. Because the fringe radical right will be around for a long time to come, just waiting for the chance to seize back control in any underhanded, illicit or otherwise fraudulent manner possible.

Why I Believe In Barbara Boxer

Barbara Boxer has been and continues to be one of the most intelligent, caring, willing voices for those of us who care about America, and the ability we have to overcome the harm Bush-Cheney imposed on us. She’s a staunch advocate for our environment, and the working class, and the poor.

Barbara has the passion and the understanding we need more of in Congress. Her ability to understand the problems we face not just on the surface, but the underlying causes, is truly admirable. Her vision has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to what this country needs and how we can get there if we are going to thrive.

So as far as I am concerned, my participation in my little way to help ensure America has the opportunity to stay on the right path in the future begins by supporting Boxer for the U.S. Senate in 2010.

How You Can Help

Visit Senator Boxer’s Official Congressional web site and express your views on current political issues.

Visit her 2010 campaign web site and get on board to help re-elect one of the greatest voices for democracy and America this country has ever known.

Tell your friends why they shouldn’t rest on their laurels, that whoever they voted for or didn’t vote for, that if they don’t participate in the process, we could end up (heaven forbid) in a mess like we had before.

DISCLAIMER

Yeah – here’s the disclaimer you were looking for. No, I am not some front or stooge or paid or volunteer participant acting on behalf of California Senator Barbara Boxer, or President Barack Obama, or the Democratic National Committee or ANY political group, entity, or enterprise. I’m an individual citizen of the United States of America. Backed by nobody – no one – nada – zilch. I’ve written this blog posting of my own free will. Whether I am of sound mind and body is another matter altogether, and I suppose only a couple decades passing will tell. Yes, you’ll be able to search about me on the web, and may probably even find some dirt to discredit me because I’m just another human being with my own imperfections, flaws and problems in life.

So go ahead. Do whatever you want to discredit me. I don’t care. I’m not running for elected office. I’m just a lower middle class American trying to do the best I can to move forward in my life. And trying to help re-shape this country into it’s lost greatness by voicing my opinion.

And if you don’t like what I wrote here, go cry on someone else’s shoulder.

_________
